Extraction

 
The mining and removal of ore from a mine.  This is carried out using various methods:-

In open-pit mining, the ore is usually hauled using a large crane and dump truck.

In underground mining, a small train or mine railway and also small or medium-sized dump trucks, where ramp access is available, are used.

In vertical shaft mining, an elevator is used.
